Prince Arren, true name, Lebannen, is the primary protagonist of Tales from Earthsea (film). He killed his father at the start of the film and took his sword. After fleeing his father's castle he meets Sparrowhawk, and he stays with him throughout most of the film. He then meets Therru when he saves her from being captured by slavetraders. Arren throughout the film acts strangely, and in the end the viewers learn that Arren was being semi-controlled by Cob and also that "...darkness/fear had stolen his body..." and the ghost following him is actually his light (in the film a person has "darkness" and "light"). In the end the light and darkness reunite and make Arren whole again.
Arren has brown hair and dark matching eyes. He usually bears an innnocent, pleading look in his eyes, but he can usually be angry. He wears a old blue shirt (sometimes with a purple robe with gold edges over the blue shirt, and other times he wears a brown cape over his shirt).
He noticed to be quite handsome.
Lebannen is actually Arren's true name, and it seemes to be a clue to enslaving him in Cob's case, or awakening him, in Therru's case. In the books, Lebannen was the name of his father.
- Ged (wizard): He feels some hate when he saves him, and later he gets to treat him as a teacher or a father figure. The two share a good realtionship.
- Therru: Despite her hating him at first, Arren tries to make her feel comfortable around him. When he was kidnapped, Therru was the one who was more worried than anyone. At the end of the film, the two share romantic feelings for each other.
- Father (as he killed): He actually loved his father, and was partly possessed when he stabbed him.
