Armé

Soldiers firing from the ravine railroad.

The soldiers are a part of the king and government's military in the movie Castle in the Sky.

Story[]

Under the command of Muoro and Muska, the army pursued Sheeta after she escaped from Muska at the beginning of the film. The army eventually recaptured her along with Pazu and brought both children to the fortress at Tedus. Once Muska discovers the way to Laputa, the army travels to the flying island aboard the Air Destroyer Goliath. There, Muska betrays Muoro and causes the general and his men to fall to their deaths in the ocean below, and sends Laputian robots to massacre the rest of the military forces.

Weaponry[]

Standard infantry equipment consists of a generic bolt-action rifle and bayonet, showing some similarities to Britain's Lee Enifled. Senior officers are armed with six-shot revolvers based on British Webley pistols. Murka and his Men in Black also use these handguns. The soldiers are armed with heavy machine-guns resembling the Russian PM-10 and grenades identical to German stick grenades. The helmets used by soldiers strongly refer to the first German uniforms of the Great War.

The army also has heavy equipment like the coastal fortress "Tedus" or the air battleship (also designated as an "air destroyer") "Goliath", armed with artillery guns of caliber close to 155 mm plus other smaller guns. Other vehicles, such as armored trains and spy plains are also provided to units.
