Bunta (文太), also known as Bunta of the Water Drinking Creek (水呑み沢の文太, Mizunomizawa no Bunta), is a character from Pom Poko.
Appearance[]
Bunta is a tanuki with light brown fur, and has a patch of dark brown fur over the left side of his face. He's sturdy, though not as heavyset as Gonta. In human form, he appears as a stocky young man with thick, wavy black hair, a button nose and a facial mole similar to the fur patch he has in tanuki form; he wears a white T-shirt and pale blue jeans.
About[]
He is a racoon dog who is part of the main tribe. He is semi good at metamorphosis.
He is sent to Sado Island on a three-year journey to look for Danzaburō of Sado, one of the legendary Transformation Masters, only to learn he was shot dead by a hunter years ago. When he comes back, he's shocked to find how much Tama Hills have changed, and remarks he feels like Urashima Taro.
He is described in the English dub as being "husky and robust", but has moments where he can be mellow and sensitive.
